HAPPY NOVEMBER!!!!!!

So my question for you is this:

ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO THE HOLIDAY SEASON?

Halloween has come and gone. Quietly for me. We didn't have any trick or treaters. Not a single child was seen in a costume in my neighborhood. I hear some neighborhoods were crazy busy. But not mine. My boys said they had only 1 child. They were disappointed. We were also under Tropical storm warnings with high winds and fast moving rain. Not like my Halloweens as a child for sure.

Christmas decorations are already out on the shelves. Thanksgiving is almost totally overlooked. My kids want to host Thanksgiving. I am totally letting them. I will gladly bake the pies, etc. I really dislike the smell of cooking turkey. I also put up my Christmas decorations with my family on Thanksgiving weekend. Then we take a family picture and send it out with the Christmas cards.

As for Christmas gifts this year. I want everything kept within reason. I tend to go over board. I really want the true meaning of Christmas to make it back. I know my daughter will be hopping on a plane the day after Christmas and joining her Dad in New Jersey. A little Babci time. (Polish for Grandmother). Then returning on the 30th.

I hope everyone has a great November.

hey beachgirl,

how are things going? i've had a busy week, and hopefully things will slow down a tad for me. i'm looking forward to thanksgiving. i'm cooking for me and will be here by myself, but i'm looking forward to it. i don't get caught up in the christmas hype , but i love the christmas season.

we're still having autumn temps here, but we're expected to get colder temps within the next few days. i hope you dodge all of the bad storms there. what are you doing for the weekend? have fun, whatever you decide to do.

I love Thanksgiving. We get together with cousins and aunts and uncles and my family and there's usually almost 40 people. Everyone loves being together and it's always at the same cousin's house. I can't wait. I start my Christmas decorating that weekend and always go to the same craft show to start the Christmas mood. So, yes, I'm ready.

Great reading a new post from you. Hope all is well!

Cheryl and Sylvia Thank You for stopping by. I have been busy taking pictures, helping my girlfriend finish up getting her house ready for the closing and doing the last minute things she needs done.
And of course going to the gym. No riding this week due to the high winds. The cover will come off today. The temps are down finally. Mid 80's today. Then down to the 70's all weekend and clear, no humidity. Yippee..
This weekend is going to be spent going thru my storage shed with my daughter and the house purging for a 3 family yard sale next weekend at the kids house. My daughter is complaining she is broke. Let's go. Purge my child. My girlfriend that I helped the last few weeks is the 3rd family for the sale. The left over items from her estate sale. So I will be busy. The kids have a huge 3 car garage. So everything will be stored there instead of my living room.

Have an awesome day.

That must be pretty disappointing to have rain and windy weather on Halloween and no trick or treat kids at the door? We just have to look forward to a wonderful Christmas instead. Thanks for the post. Smile always. God bless and have a wonderful and warm weekend.

Hi Carol, we only had 17 kids in my area but I had a friend over for dinner and it was fun. As you know, our thanksgiving is long over (beginning of Oct) but Xmas is already in the air here with stuff out in the stores. I've already done a bit of shopping but we're being reasonable this year, too. I love all the lead up right to the day but I find Christmas Day actually rather exhausting.

The only aspect of the holiday season I look forward to is it being over. Too much stress for too many people. I'm not a cynic, I just have grown to detest the overhype of something that should be serene and spiritual.

Wow what a glorious sunrise this morning.

Sylvia has gained a few more screen savers for sure.
I have a problem sleeping in, and the time change just gave me an added incentive to take a sunrise expedition with the puppies to the beach.

I did have a cranky elderly lady point out that dogs are not allowed on the beach. I asked her if the cops were going to catch me at 6 am. Now I do have my dogs on a leash attached to the bench. They just sit there and enjoy the view. They are not big fans of the sand. Which keeps my car cleaner for sure. I have no clue why anyone needs to be so negative first thing in the morning in that type of setting. I find sunrise on the beach a peaceful way to start my day. Kind of makes my day peaceful and serene.

Ian I do agree with you and your Holiday sentiments. I lost my Mom on Dec 3rd. (17 years ago) So I have trouble sometimes getting in the mood. I also find the whole commercialism kind of discouraging. Makes me want to not shop. And I don't like shopping to start with.

I hope everyone has a nice week.

hi carol, i think rising with the sun on the beach is a great way to start the day. how blessed you are in that aspect! i think i'd like to move on the waterfront whenever i move away.

i'm finding myself a little nostalgic as the holidays approach. perhaps it's because my daughter is so far away and i miss her and my granddaughter.

i've had the blogs the past 2 years to help me thru the holidays, and i'm looking forward to blogging with those who'll be online this year.

have a blessed week carol! i'm going to call you one day this week so we can 'girl chat.'

Pumpkin Pie for sure.

When I was growing up it was pumpkin, blueberry and mincemeat. My kids balked at the mincemeat. So we just eat pumpkin. They love it.

Oh, I LOVE mincemeat pie a la mode but it gives me heartburn now in my old age. lol Anyway, just consider Christmas the way it's supposed to be - a spiritual reminder of the birth of Christ. Enjoy the music of the season and family and friends, but don't worry about shopping. We've all agreed that this year is going to be very low key.

Oh, and by the way, if you get tired of the sun you can always come up to Vancouver to enjoy the rain! *rotflol*

Your funny Leslie,
But Thank You for the invite. I try to stay were the sun shines and the snow doesn't fall.
The weather has gotten cooler. We are actually wearing sweat shirts at night. Much cooler and no humidity.
I really don't like to shop. And I am definitely keeping the cost down this year. I tend to go crazy and it's time to put the reason for the season back into play.

Have an awesome night.
