The children have found a new home and moved out.

That didn't take long at all. It's amazing how being very crowded and having 4 dogs and a cat under one roof will make those who need to get it together, get it together. One week total/ Saturday to Saturday.

Now I didn't cheer. But I was not sad to see them find a new home. They had me look at the property with them. I met the landlords. Measured the windows, and did a final walk thru for them with a check list while they went back to work. The things I do for them. But I love them. And I really wanted them to move out. It wasn't the kids. It was the four dogs that got to me. Constant chaos. By the end of the week the dogs had bonded incredibly. But trying to just take 2 at a time for a walk was not fun trying to get out the door. The other two blocked the door, tried to sneak under your feet, etc.

I also joined a gym last week. I needed the stress buster. I even did myself a huge favor and signed up for a year of personal training 4 times a month. I am very serious about getting back into top physical shape. And staying off the depression meds. I figure that the trainer will put me on the correct road to a balanced work out. I was trying to keep the gym a secret from my daughter. But she found me in the gym the second day. Oh well. So much for her not catching me for a few weeks. And being the nice child that she is. She chose the hardest trainer for me. He's living up to his name for sure. What a task master. But it feels good. Now getting back into top shape is a great way to turn 50 next year. I figure if I don't do it now, I will never get make it thru menopause in one piece.

So what interesting things have you done lately. My challenge to you is to do something for yourself that improves your life on a daily basis.

Hi Greeneyes,
I usually end up doing all the dog sitting for the kids. But this was way over the top. All the dogs lost their manors. 2 puppies and 2 / 2 yr olds. Mind blowing.

I am always being told to take yoga to unwind. They have 6 classes a week for free. Another benefit.

Have an awesome day.

It's nice to have freedom of movement back. I like your idea of finding an area for improvement on a daily basis.

You have your house back. That must be so nice. Now you and your kids can visit, and go home afterwards. The best of all worlds.

Good for you for joining a gym. I'd feel so good if I did that. I'm busy and lazy, I guess.

Hi Cheryl,
I was just lazy. But there is no time like the present.
It's only 4 days a week. An hour 4 x a week is worth my health for sure. And it improves my mood. Amazing.
Today I was at their house waiting for the cable guy. I had a nice nap while I waited. I figured the dogs would wake me if he finally showed up. After his time was up of course.
I also had several nice rides on my bike. After a tough work out this morning. So it was a pleasant day.
Have an awesome evening.
Carol

My evening has been spent with the TV on and my laptop on my lap. Not exciting. I had a fatty dinner after doing so well for so long. Then I had ice cream and then peanuts. So, lazy and bad. Thank goodness tomorrow is a new day and I can start over.

I read your comment about your bike. So simple, yet so hard. I have a neighbor who I call on for help when I need it. She's good at figuring things out. I'm not. I need to learn how to work with my photo editing program. It's just one more thing that takes time.

Night!

Your evening sounded a lot like mine. Except I had a steak, sweet potato, and mixed veggies for dinner. I was hungry while the steak was defrosting. So I had a shrimp cocktail. I just love keeping a frozen bag of cooked shrimp in the freezer. A quick and easy snack that is much healthier than a hand full of cheeseits.
It's my goal to eat much healthier. I topped my dinner off by a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream.

I made up for the poor eating all day.

I need to go take some computer classes and get photo shop.

Today it's back to the gym on my bike at 9 am. Pay some bills. If the weather is nice, maybe some beach time.

Have an awesome day.

Hi Carol, wow you've had quite a week. I did, too, but in a different way. First of all, I turned 60 last Saturday! And it wasn't too bad reaching this milestone...life just keeps on getting better. Then we had our Canadian Thanksgiving on Sunday and I cooked a turkey with all the trimmings. My daughter made the BEST pumpkin layer cake with whipped cream cheese frosting! I'm not usually a cake person but I have to admit I pigged out on that cake. Then yesterday was my Dad's celebration of life. It's been 3 weeks today since he passed away and I'm finally feeling a bit tired from all the "busyness" of preparing for the reception. (details on my blog, btw) Also, went out for a lovely walk around my neighbourhood on Wednesday taking photos of fall colours and posted them on my blog, too. My "eye" is getting better but eventually I think I'm going to need a better "tool." Well, glad you're back to your own privacy - it's fun to have the kids around but nice to see them leave, too, right? lol

hi carol, how did things go at the estate sale yesterday? my cousin used to go to them a lot. i went with her once. you can find some really nice pieces at good prices.

we seem to finally be having autumn weather after our heat wave last week. nice and welcomed change.

have a great weekend, as i'm sure you will!

Hi Sylvia,
I am exhausted from 2 days at the estate sale. We didn't sell everything. I bought several really nice pieces of furniture. And some stuff for the kids. You get the idea.
Gorgeous stuff. We are back at it tomorrow. I have so many personalities coming at me today and yesterday I need some quiet time tonight.

Just me and the puppies who are fighting on my bed. Pretty fun to watch them. No noise, just wrestling.

Have a peaceful night.

hi carol, i just typed up my comments here, then got distracted by an I-M someone sent, and accidently closed the window and lost my comments before i could save them. so here i go again.

i was saying how nice and rewarding it was to help your friend out at her estate sale, and even though you're tired, i'm glad you got some nice pieces from it.

i'm trying to upload a new template outside of blogger, so i'm playing around with it. this is how i'm learning. i'm finding templates outside of blogger seem to be made more for the widescreen monitors, which i don't have. technology has a way of forcing you to buy to keep up. i've been wanting a wide-screen, flat-panel monitor anyway, so i will start looking into them. so, back to blogger to find a design i'll be satisfied with for a while.

enjoy your peaceful nite, and have a good sleep.

i've always wanted a leather jacket. for no particular reason, just never bought one. i did have a leather coat though. then after some years, my daughter and her friend told me the kind i had was no longer in style so i gave it to the thrift store or something like it. i wonder if i should have kept it. maybe i gave my blessing away.

glad you got some bike riding in. i love this weather--not too hot, not too cold, just right as goldilocks said. sleep well tonite!

beachgirl said...

Hi Sylvia,
My jacket is a true motorcycle jacket. Nothing fancy or stylish about it. I knew what I wanted, the fit, air vents, etc. I had the advantage of knowing who carried it also. I ran a Harley Davidson clothing boutique and I happened to be in Daytona and knew they were there. So my ex boyfriend and I went in.
He wasn't so sure, buy I persisted on exactly what I wanted and was looking for. It was my gift and jacket. I was right. It;s perfect for the bike.

Today is a good hour in the gym, picking up more prints. I am looking at putting up more work, less expensive this time, bigger variety, dog and cat food. Finding a list of crafts fairs and art shows. So I can start showing. Lots of work to do.

Have an awesome day.

hi carol, i'm glad you're still pursuing your artwork. i still think you'll make some sales. it's a matter of finding the right venue and people.

we've had 80 degree weather this week. a little too hot for this time of year, but since i know we'll be heading into the cold weather shortly, i won't complain and just enjoy the brief respite.

have a great day tomorrow!

beachgirl said...

Hi Sylvia,
I have been going to several web sites and trying to figure them out. This looks like it is going to be very time consuming. I am not looking at doing shows out of the area right now. We'll see. I have a ton of leg work to go thru.
I also think it's going to be very expensive just to set up the show. Plus registration fees. They are not posting those. Of course.

Have an awesome day. I am off to the gym for legs today and yoga. I will learn to relax some day.
