ARE WE HAVING FUN YET?

The kids are having Thanksgiving at their house. I am thrilled that I don't have to cook.
I really don't like the smell of cooking turkey. Plus their place is much bigger. I will bring pies if
they want me to. And my cameras. I always take pictures on Thanksgiving for the holiday cards.
And I don't have to pay for the dinner. Caching. Thank you kids.

Now on to Christmas shopping. I think I am just going to give them some of my photography.
I am also going to suggest that we all get creative this holiday season. I really don't think we all need
more stuff. Unless someone wants to give me my dream camera. Which I will not refuse. But I won't hold my
breath.

I am really not looking forward to the holiday season. For me getting together during Thanksgiving and Christmas is always
stressful. But I see my kids all the time when everyone is relaxed and not stressed for the Holidays.

My idea of the perfect Thanksgiving is a nice long peaceful ride on my bike. A beach day, spent reading with my toes in the sand. I don't eat out ever on holidays. I waited tables for too many years. High prices, inferior food. Cranky people.

Wait. I can go for a long ride on my bike. I can go to the beach. I don't have to cook. Ahhhh.

Have an awesome day!!

Gosh, the idea of biking along Florida beaches in November wounds so serene. We've had more terrible wind storms lately and it's getting quite nippy lately. Pray we don't get snow! (We don't often, but last year was H*** for everyone here. Have a wonderful time with your family, Carol.

WHAT?! you don't like the smell of turkey cooking? that's un-american. *lol* a bike ride sounds good. i'm looking forward to my thanksgiving by myself. my neighbor invited me over, but i just want a nice, peaceful & quiet day since i can't be in california. i normally go to my sister's home, but she's going out this year.

Hi Sylvia,
I have no idea why i don't like the smell. Just never have.
The kids are cooking. Thank You. I gladly do other holidays. I'll show up with my cameras. Bake some pies, set the table if need be. I'm sure football will be on tv.
Lots of different personalities for sure.
My prayer for the day should be:

"God grant me the wisdom to keep my mouth shut, tolerate rude people and their opinions, and do it with Grace."

Have an awesome day everyone.

LOL carol, you are so funny, but i understand about the different personalities and all.

while you were cleaning and shedding at your garage sale, i was cleaning out my files for our community shred today. took my shreddables and recyclable electronics at 8am and was back home at 8:25am. now i have the whole day before me.

i hope your 2nd day garage sale will be successful. enjoy!

Living where you do you can ride on your bike and go to the beach in November. Lucky you. I am envious. But, happy holiday, anyway.

Carol! LOL

I echo that 'ahhhh'. I'm home today and making the most of my downtime.

The last of our many 'public and bank holidays' here in the tropics.

Enjoy your stress free thanksgiving :)

hi carol,

hope you've had a great day. how did things go with the garage sale this weekend? did you sell everything?

one of my blogging buddies did my template for me. she's so good. i'm going to keep this particular template and just change the little decorations according to the holidays or my moods. eventually she's going to have her own templates for people to use.

have a good nite!

Hi Sylvia,
The garage sale was really good on Saturday. We got rid of at least 80%. Sunday was dead in the water. A few people came back early and that was it. My girlfriend left early. (she wasn't feeling well). The kids and I had everything put away early and called it a day.
Gorgeous weather though. I rode my bike to and from both days. Then went for a ride on Sunday.

Have an awesome day.

hi carol, 80% is good, plus it was good that you had help. glad you got to ride your bike also. well, the big day is almost here. i have to go out in the morning and do my grocery shopping, then i'm going to the movies with one of my friends and her son and niece to see "the bee movie." have a great day tomorrow!

i purposely didn't buy a pie, so you can send me a slice of one of yours after you finish baking them.

your on Sylvia

pie coming your way

did i tell you i forgot the sugar in the pie last year?

once in 30 years, i'll never live it down

heiresschild said...

LOL now that is toooooo funny carol! were you all able to eat them, or did you have to toss them?

i always allow about 5 days for my turkey to unthaw in the bottom of my fridge. the good thing is you all will now have 2 turkeys; however, you'll be eating turkey for days.

i was already gone to somewhere when they went to eat them. They got tossed. Their words were GROSS!!!
The turkey caper struck again this year by my oldest. I told him I bought another one today that was fresh,, he got pissed. Ouch. He'll live. You really have to laugh at these kids though.

I'm off to the kids house to change the water again.
Even though we're not eating it tomorrow, the thawing has started.
