I DID IT!!!!!!!

I had my first show. It was fun, hectic, and a total group effort to get everything done. My Thanks to everyone for their hard work. My youngest one invited people on the street down to my show site. The rest of the kids hung out and entertained each other and the viewers running in and out. The show was part of Art Work in downtown Hollywood.
I do believe my work was well received. I had several artist love it and suggest other venues to show. The only negative was this old coupe. (make up garish). They were well dressed, carrying their to go bags from where ever they had dinner. I asked what they thought. She was blunt. " We don't like photographs. Only paintings. " I very nicely thanked them for coming and stopping by. I was very sweet. I do believe she didn't get it. She just looked at me and was clueless that I was the photographer. Which was just fine with me. Everyone has an opinion. Thats what makes it fun.
I didn't sell anything yet. But I really didn't think I would have last night. Another artist helped out and said no one ever sells the first time out. But she loved the work. and I will sell.. Last night was all about getting out there and being seen. So on Wednesday I will go take all my work down/ and come home and hang it all over my house for safe keeping. Which is why I chose the pictures that I did.

I hope everyones is having a personally fulfilling kind of weekend.

Congratulations, Carol sounds like all went well with the show. I looked at your photos on your photography website, but would love to know which ones you picked for the show. Hi to Franny.

I wish you could feature some of your photographs on your blog post so that we can also appreciate your artistic achievements. Do not lose heart if you did not sell anything on the first day of your exhibit. In due time you will get the recognition you so deserve. Smile. Have a nice day. God bless you with all the wisdom and artistic talents to pursue your dreams in life.

Hello my DEAR FRIEND...
Sounds like a true test, but one met with a smile, and great heart and soul, you will do fine my girl the confidence carried through when you greet each and everyone who not only looks at your photos but also at you will see nothing but a priceless winner! and they will have to have (it) . after they see that someone else has purchased the first copy and they passed it up.. i know from experience my dear it happens... keep your chin up and the smile on... find a quaint little shop around the corner to put a picture on the wall or your dr.s office maybe the waiting room at the nail shop or spa you never know... someone is going to be interested... good luck

My vacation was so wonderful! my father just Loves Bryon, I thought I was never going to get the two of them apart, they both are cut from the same kind of cloth and talk the same language, so of course most of the time I spent listening to business... but it was interesting business.
This is the First time My Dad approves of anyone~ he is very picky... so this says alot for Bryon... of course I had to laugh and tell Dad I found him first.. lol... no Dad is not that way he is just very protective.. anyway, our trip was fantastic, the weather was beautiful, the BMW ran like a champ, and then we came home through Sun Valley, Idaho- Bryon had never been there, it was wonderful.
You are right Great minds do think alike, I only wish we could sit down and visit I bet we could come up with more ideas.
thanks for popping in.
have a wonderful day Carol,
hugs,
Wanda

Hi Sylvia,
I do believe that is a day I would not miss for the world. I hope you find someone to marry. I would love to find someone also. But as Franny will tell you. I am very hyper.

Hi Wanda,
I am so glad you are so happy. My father is still alive, but not part of my life. By choice. I seldom see him, he lives near my Grams, and I am tolerant of him for her sake. But have no desire for a relationship. He left my Mom when I was in the 4th grade and came back when all 6 of us were grown. We pretty much have nothing to do with him. But I have long ago made peace with my childhood. Life is funny with the lessons we are taught.
I am looking into several areas to show my photos. And I wish we lived closer too.

Have an awesome day!
Carol

you'll just have to find someone calmer than you, and you'll have the balance.

Hi Sylvia,
I have tried that route. Down here calmer means they are couch potatoes. Channel surfers and about 400 pounds. Just not my type at all.
We have such nice weather that you have extremes in body and personality types. You have those that are always outside and those who stay inside.
Sounds crazy doesn't it? I also don't like going to bars. So those who like going out for a few drinks never make it past hello. I guess I'm just very picky.

Have an awesome day.
Carol
